Welcome to The Burnham
Market Surgery
It is our aim on this website to
provide information you may need as an existing patient or, if you
are looking to move into the area, some knowledge of who we are, how we operate and what facilities
we can provide for your healthcare.

The surgery was opened in 1982 by HRH The
Duchess of Kent
Emergencies
If you need to see a doctor in an emergency
you can call the Surgery on 01328 737000 during opening times, weekdays
8.00am to 6.30pm - or the patient can be taken immediately to the Surgery if well enough
to be moved.
Out of hours please call the Emergency Doctor on
01603 488488. You will be asked for your name and telephone number by the
operator and the Doctor will call you back to ask about your symptoms after which he will
either give advice or ask you to come and see him at the emergency surgery. He will
come and see you if he considers it necessary. Information about out
of hours provision can be found on
our Changes to Healthcare page and
on the website
www.anglianmedicalcare.org.uk
If your call is not an emergency please make an appointment in the normal way.
Home
Visits
Please telephone the Surgery
01328 737000 before 10.30am if at all possible. You will be asked for the
patients full name and address, where the patient is to be seen, your telephone number and
details of the patient's condition.
This information will enable the Doctor to assess the priority of the visit.
Please ask for a home visit only if the patient is too ill to wait to be brought to
the surgery.
If you feel that the patient is too ill to wait for the Doctor's normal rounds,
please stress this fact to the receptionist on the telephone.
Community Car Scheme
Please contact Daphne Potter, Scheme
Co-ordinator on 01485 525511if you need transport to a hospital or surgery.
There is a 40p per mile charge. See Report of
2004/5

The Surgery has requested that during
normal surgery hours
patients ring between 8am and 9am if they wish an emergency appointment
to see a doctor. As the telephone line is necessarily busy
at this time, normal surgery appointments should not be requested until
after 9am.
